              M.Sc. Programmes Affiliated to M. G. University , Kottayam offered at SIBBR&D

SCMS, the premier professional academic group in Cochin, offers for the first time in India, M.Sc programmes in the frontier areas of biotechnology like Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Genomics, Proteomics, Toxicology, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering at the Biotechnology Division of SCMS School of Technology and Management, Cochin.

All these programmes are research oriented and are delivered at the SCMS Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology Research & Development Division of the SCMS Group, which already has a well equipped research lab functioning since 2007. An efficient team of scientists under the Directorship of the nationally reputed Bioscientist Dr. C. Mohan Kumar has been conducting research on areas like Transgenic crops, Genetic Disorders, Molecular Diagnosis of Diseases, Gene Sequencing, Primer Synthesis and Designing, DNA Finger Printing, Genetic Polymorphism – RAPD, RFLP, AFLP & DDRT, Micro Array analysis and Quantification of gene expression by Real Time PCR.

The Biotechnology Research Institute of SCMS Group is already a centre for research based degrees of M.Tech, Integrated Ph.D and Ph.D of Anna University Coimbatore in the frontier areas of biotechnology.
