The School of Communication and Management Studies, SCMS-COCHIN for short, was established in 1976 with the twin objectives of preparing the younger generation to occupy responsible positions in organisations by widening their horizon of knowledge and equipping them with all the necessary skills to become managers of tomorrow.

With the onset of globalisation, a new business environment has evolved. The managers of tomorrow have to acquire the necessary skills to face the challenges posed by the new business and economic environment.

The SCMS-COCHIN has always been endeavouring to constantly provide an ethical dimension to professional management education even when it was striving for excellence. This value orientation is a matter of prime importance in a national economy which is gradually integrating itself with the global economic system.

It is my pleasure and privilege to be the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the SCMS-COCHIN and be part of its quest for excellence.
