Student exchange programs and Internships

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMS – SUMMARY

1.Teams comprising of students and faculty from Hungkuang University Taiwan, Daffodil International University Bangladesh and Leaders Private School Sharjah, UAE participated in the finals of Dr. Pradeep P. Thevannoor Innovation Awards (PPTIA) 2019 at SCMS School of Engineering and Technology on 16th and 17th November 2019. The project titled “Development of a novel multi-channel cyclic stress stimulator for in vitro study” presented by the team from Hungkuang University won the prize for the best algorithm.

2.Ms. Neethu Sunil and Mr. Sarath J, semester 6 students in Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), SCMS School of Engineering and Technology has been selected for two weeks internship program in Japan organized by Matsue city and Shimane University in March 2020.




3.Three-week Internship on “ROBOTICS” was organized at SCMS Center for Robotics for students from Daffodil International University, Bangladesh in association with Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Gopakumar S, Group Director SCMS on 17th June 2019 10.00 am at SCMS School of Engineering and Technology campus, Karukutty. Dr. Praveensal C J, Principal SSET, Dr. Varun G Menon Associate Professor and International Relations-in charge and Dr. Sunil Jacob, Director SCMS Center for Robotics spoke at the inauguration function.


Mr. Nimai Chandra Das, Mr. M Atique Faisal Rafi, Mr. Md Sazzad Sarker and Mr. Ramit Arko, B.Sc students from Daffodil International University were the participants of the program. The program is designed to impart knowledge in the field of robotics to students and help the them build prototypes and make their innovative ideas come to reality. Mr. Khandker M Qaiduzzaman, Lecturer, Department of Software Engineering, Daffodil International University is also with the Daffodil International University as a international exchange faculty. He conducted sessions on Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Machine Learning at SCMS School of Engineering and Technology and SCMS College of Polytechnics.

4. Mr. Arun Sen and Mr. Akshay Pashnath, students from Department of Computer Science and Engineering, SCMS School of Engineering and Technology have been offered job by Japanese Company, Honest. They will be joining the company office in Matsu City, Japan.

5.Research collaboration with Technical University Varna, Bulgaria

Dr. Sheeja Janardhanan, Professor Department of Mechanical Engineering has entered into research collaboration with Technical University Varna, Bulgaria. Earlier SCMS Group of Educational Institutions has signed an MoU for collaboration in research with this top international university. The following two research papers were published recently as part of the research collaboration.

9.Ms. Vineetha Rose Vincent, M. Tech Environmental Engineering student was selected with scholarship for the IGCS Summer School “Sustainable Urban Water and Wastewater Management: India and Germany” from 15th July 2017 to 27th July 2017 at RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

10. Ms Linta Joy, M. Tech Environmental Engineering student completed her training and research at LimCo GmbH, Germany from 2nd November 2015 to 1st December 2015.
